Welcome

Finally, our attempt to introduce a South African website to assist our country to have the joy of owning a Clematis.

 

Clematis are not indigenous plants to South Africa, and therefore have to be given a level of tender loving care to ensure the magnificent growing and flowering ability that they are truly capable of.

 

The whole reason to launch our website is to offer a private and personal assistance to those who wish to extend their knowledge of this wonderful plant species.

 

Over the next few years, this site will be extended in information.     This will be a forum for exchange of information on Clematis.       We do not boast a degree in Botany, only a love of this plant, and it’s logical treatment in South African conditions.

 

To keep the downloading of the site to a reasonable level, we try to keep the content of the illustrations to a minimum.       There are some 8000 named Clematis in the world, and we have but 120 odd types.      We will provide detail of what we have knowledge of, but suggest that it is available on request.  A listing is however available

 

Our experience is limited to a practical growing of Clematis and to a lifetime of owning plants over many years.

About Us...

Sheila and John are retired.      We have a beautiful country style home in Henley on Klip, near Meyerton in Guateng.   Clematis is a fulltime hobby.       There is all the time necessary to grow and train our plants into very beautiful potted flower arrangements.      We have clean clear borehole water and as most of us a bountiful sunshine conditions.

 

The buildings at our home were developed simply to cater for our hobby, and it is possible to use past mechanical engineering experience into quality assured plants which are a pleasure to look at for the ten months of the year in which they flower.

 

The rewards are the simplicity of making beauty.

Our products

We specialise in Clematis, and make little effort to propagate anything that is not required in our many flowerbeds around the property.

Our services

We make a very poor effort to sell our excess production.        The whole production is available to anyone who needs a Clematis.        The joy of the Clematis is enough.        If a plant leaves our home, we want to be proud of providing others with the very best available in South Africa.
